Project Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Louisville District provided a scope of work consisting of Design/Build services to obtain a facility in which the customer is able to implement their Aeromedical Evacuation support and training missions. The project consists of 21,500 SF in size, two-story vertical structure, and will include spaces for new offices, training, and equipment storage spaces. The project also includes providing utilities, parking, landscaping, and complete demolition of the existing facility. The acquisition strategy consisted of Design/Build per Corps of Engineers specifications and LEED Certification. The following major tasks were included under this project: Installation of government furnished equipment; All program space complete with utilities, storm drainage, sanitary, potable and fire suppression water, communications, electric, HVAC, lightning protection, fire protection/alarm system, paving, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, access drives, exterior lighting, grading and physical security requirements; Design, supply and installation of furniture; Demolition of existing facilities. The project has received LEED Gold Certification from the United States Green Building Council.
